Politics, Plagues and Pandemonia

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19a)

I have been humming this hymn over and over. It was written by Ruth Caye Jones during the uncertainty of times in the midst of World War II. However, it's sentiment is every bit as appropo today as we find ourselves in the midst of an unfamiliar lifestyle - a time of polluted politics, a pending plague and prolific pandemonium spreading across our country and extending worldwide.

But rest assured, it still brings comfort to trust in the name of Jesus.

His is a name above all names and all other names must bow before Him.

Jesus.

He is power, He is grace, He is Sovereign. He is HOPE.

He is what we need when we don't know what we need.

In times like these you need a Savior, In times like these you need an anchor; Be very sure, be very sure,

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

While it is easy to give in to the panic and fears that the media fuels, in no short supply, we must fight to hold onto our peace.

Like a boat tossed on troubled waters, we are only kept from straying into the deep by anchoring ourselves to that which is immovable and steadfast.

Dig in. Get into the Word of God and find your comfort and solace therein.

In times like these you need the Bible, In times like these, O be not idle; Be very sure, be very sure, Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

We may be in isolation, but we are never alone - not if we believe in Christ Jesus and have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.

In times like these I have a Savior, In times like these I have an anchor; I'm very sure, I'm very sure My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

And just in case you did not know -

This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One, This Rock is Jesus, the only One; Be very sure, be very sure,

Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

Shalom!
