Blooming Out of Season

It was late November and I was raking leaves when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a beautiful red rose in full bloom; in fact, there were actually two of them. That was the last thing I expected to see, but there they were - flowers blooming out of season. It re-confirmed for me how awesome God is and how he can do whatever he wants to do – in His own time, including deviating from the rules of gestation.

We are like those flowers.

Just because it didn’t happen when you thought it woulda, coulda, shoulda, is no reason to give up or think it still won’t.

God is 'gangsta'.

He makes bold moves. He does the impossible. He comes through and He does not ask opinions.

You may think your time has run out; you have missed the boat; your season has passed, or you have peaked. It may look as if the end is at hand and your prayers are going to go unanswered, your dreams unfulfilled – but those are the conditions that make the situation just about right for God to go to work, for Him to show His power, authority and sovereignty.

God wants to do it without our advice or input.

If He can make a plant so confused by the warm temperatures that it breaks out in full bloom in the winter, out of its expected season, He can break you out of your encumbrances into a full blossom because the temperature is now right and it’s your time for 'Blooming Out of Season'.

“… And he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” (1 Pet.2:6b)
