Because He Got up

As we celebrate another Holy Week, I am eternally grateful for a Saviour who loved me enough - not only to die for me, but who was powerful enough to get back up.

Had he remained in the grave, we might still be celebrating him - just not in the same way.

His might have been remembered as another unfortunate assassination.

He may have been hailed as some sort of christian martyr,

But because that was not the end of the story ...

and because He got up ...

He went from being a martyr, to being a sacrifice. in fact, He was the ultimate and final sacrifice necessary to atone for all the sins of mankind.

Because He got up with all power in His hands, we can get up, too - out of depression, out of discouragement, out of disgrace and out of disappointments..

because he got up, we are saved by His grace, covered by His blood, forgiven by His mercy and wrapped up in His love.

Because He got up, we have getting-up power.

though you may have stumbled, fallen or come up short of the mark, there is good news!

you don't have to stay down or concede defeat - all because He paid the price at Calvary and because He didn't stay buried. we have the victory ...
