WHEN YOU FUMBLE

It's football season once again.

That's good news to some and not so good news to those who are not fans.

Like the game of football, life can throw us some unexpected plays.

Some plays are trick, some are fake and some are without deception - they are straight down the middle.

What causes coaches and fans alike to bite their nails is when a player fumbles the ball.

By definition of the rule - it is any action that causes the one is possession to lose possession.

This can happen accidentally when it's thrown off target or there is nervousness, shaky hands, or the receiver is out of position,

in the wrong spot, or maybe there is simply a lack of expertise, or a lack of experience...

This can happen intentionally when the opposition reaches in and strips the player of the ball.

Whatever the reason, there is always that consolation that if the clock is not at zero - the player has another chance.

And, so it is with LIFE.

For a variety of personal reasons, we sometimes fumble what life throws at us. We don't make a clean catch. We drop the ball.

However, as long as the clock is not at zero, as long as we still have breath - we have another chance.

We can recover and proceed. Where we recover is not necessarily where we dropped it.

Sometimes the bounce works in our favor and pushes us (through no effort on our end) farther down the field.

Sometimes the bounce sets us back past where we have already been.

Where ever the ball is located, we can pick it up and do what we need to do - continue to run, start a new play, back up and punt, or wait for our turn to come back around.

Whatever we must do to get back in the game, take a lesson from NIKE and just do it.

Don't give up and call it quits because of a fumble. Life is full of them.

"We may feel alone, but we aren’t. We are surrounded by an army of witnesses.

They have run the race of faith and finished well. It is now our turn." Hebrews 12 (VOICE)

Imagine there is a crowd on the sidelines yelling, "Come on, pick it up. Run. Keep going."

Until the fat lady sing, until the last trumpet sounds, we have a chance to regain possession of what we fumbled and move farther down the field.

We may get tackled or fouled; sometimes, we have a false start or a turnover.

We may trip over our own feet.

Just make sure if you fall ten times, you get up eleven ... because a fumble does not signal the end of the game.

Where you fumble ... there is GOD!

When you fumble ... there is GOD!

Pick up the Ball and Run On!!
