ANOINTED FOR THIS

"...AND THE YOKE SHALL BE DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING."

(IS. 10:27)

When it comes to your purpose, your calling, your assignments - do you experience Uncertainty? Doubt? Fear?

True Confession - these are questions that sometimes cause me to pause in my tracks, especially when others try to offer suggestions of what they think I am not called to.

People who ask, what is your purpose, will suggest that you follow your passion if you are unsure.

What fuels you? What fulfills you? That’s it.

Well, allow me to ask another way - What are you anointed for?

And if you have uncertainty, doubt, or fears concerning this, I found it easier to answer than the 'purpose' questions. (This could just be me... Judge, if you must)

Some questions to consider...

What is it that you do that blesses others? What action on your part makes them breathe again?

What do they thank you for after you’ve done it?

What weapon do they find effective in your arsenal, time and time again?

You are anointed for that thing.

Not everyone is anointed to preach deliverance to the captives; some are anointed to set at liberty those who are bruised. Still, it's instigating FREEDOM.

We are most effective when we minister in our anointing to the Captives.

Captives? Yes. Those in bondage, bound or tied up. those burdened, overwhelmed, intimidated by the cares and concerns of life.

The anointing is that holy "ingredient" that loosens ties, that moves the immobile, that unsticks the stuck.

The thing you do to exact someone's release from their crippling inhibitions is the anointing on you that sets the captives free.

Yes. You are anointed for that.

As strange as it sounds – I am anointed to hug. I love to hug people and people love to hug me, whether they need a shoulder or a sounding board. I am told all the time that I give good hugs. I, especially, love to hear that blessed exhale when they are released from whatever is gripping onto them.

Hugging may sound simple or trite to most. But I don’t take it for granted. I don't even try to explain.

From day 1 of my surrendering to the call of ministry, I promised – I would not waste time defending what God has chosen me for... And I won’t defend it now.

I will simply continue to do the thing(s) I am anointed to do and let it speak.

So - Beware. I just might hug you!!
