GO FOR IT!

As I kept tabs on the Olympic games in Rio, I was amazed at the dexterity, endurance and pure talent on display among the athletes.

I thought about where I would place in the events and I'm reasonably sure I never would have qualified to make the trip.

All I can say is that I am so glad in this race called life, I not only qualify but I don’t have to out run, out flip. out swim, out throw, out jump anyone. All I have to do is keep working at it and be the best 'ME' I can be.

As the saying goes, Steady wins this race.

I am equally glad that there are more than three prizes to signify a winning status.

If we can just keep it moving and don’t become weary and faint, but press our way through the difficulties, leap over the frequent hurdles and jump over the high beams; if we can stay in our lanes and not cross over the lines getting in the paths of others to trip them up; if we can keep our eyes on the prize and not watch the ones running beside us, ahead of us and, heaven forbid, not looking back at the ones trailing us - then we have the blessed assurance that if we endure to the end, we shall reap a just reward.

We will prevail. We will be champions. We will smell the sweet savor of victory. We are WINNERS!

So go for it, knowing that your efforts will not be wasted.

Go for it, knowing that what is done in secret will be rewarded openly.

Go for it, knowing that He who called you is faithful and will be with you.

Go for it, knowing that God is on your side and He is waiting at the finish line for you.

No matter when you get there, you still get the gold. There is a crown with your name on it and a celebration waiting that can’t start until you arrive.

Keep pressing toward the mark and be steadfast and unmovable.

Your labor will not be in vain.
