As we approach this Independence Day Weekend, a time when we, as a country, celebrate Freedom, Equality and Happiness, how will you celebrate? Fireworks? Cookouts?

On July 4, 1776, a Declaration was signed announcing the colonies separation from Great Britain. That same Declaration asserted that all men were created equal even though Thomas Jefferson penned most of the original draft, yet he owned slaves.

As this holiday weekend approaches, it is a reminder to me of who is really responsible for my Freedom, Equality and Happiness… and He even threw in some JOY.

I will celebrate Freedom, that…

Jesus (my Savior) is not a man that He should, could, would lie.

When He gave us our Liberty, He held no parts of us hostage, but it was a complete separation from everything that would seek to hold us in bondage.

We were freed from sin, freed from the mistakes of our past, freed from others' opinions of us and freed from the enemies' control over us.

John 8:36 affirms, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

I will celebrate Equality, that…

Our God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34)

By one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 C0r. 12:13)

All flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Luke 3:6)

I will celebrate Happiness, that …

My God hath anointed me with the oil of gladness (Ps. 45:7)

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, (Ps. 4;7)

He brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness (Ps. 105:43)

I am so glad that I can celebrate - because my Joy cannot be legislated or denied with a document nor with a signature.

I can celebrate because God is still in control and above Him there is none other.

He reigns supreme and He shall be exalted.

I celebrate not only this weekend, but Everyday Shall Be a Day of Thanksgiving.

At every mention of His name - Jesus - I will celebrate Him with my praise.

Happy Independence Day! Happy Freedom Day!

Let's Celebrate!
