Don't Forget to Remember

As we enter this Memorial Day Weekend and pay well-deserved homage to all those who so bravely fought, risked and even lost their lives for our freedoms, let us not forget to remember the one who paid the ultimate price.

Don't forget to remember Jesus! After all, He never forgets about us.

He knew some of us would have ugly ways and impure thoughts. He knew others would have vices and addictions and bad attitudes. He knew some would throw rocks and hide their hands. He knew others would do their very best to live right and love right but still miss the mark because we all have sinned and fallen short of His glory. In all our righteousness, we are still as filthy rags.

God knew what all we would be capable of doing in these bodies, because He made us, He shaped us and then He gave us life. But then, He also gave His only son for us.

And Jesus gave His life and paid the exorbitant cost of the ransom for our kidnapped souls. He took on the weight of our sins and gave His life for our reconciliation back to the Father.

By one man's action, all were lost; but by another one's sacrifice, all are saved.

Don't forget to Remember.

We don't need to set aside a special day to remember Him. We don't need to set up stones or markers to remember where He found us, where He rescued us, where He saved us.

Everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving if we open our eyes and breathe in air.

Everyday is Memorial Day if we just think about how God has brought us and kept us and blessed us. Just think of His Goodness to you!

Everyday is a day to be grateful and glad because no matter what our struggle-of-the-day is, we know how the story ends.

If by chance you don't, flip to the end of the book.

We win.

We are not just conquerors; we are more than conquerors.

Rejoice and be glad in that, and ...Don't forget to Remember!
